Needham Market 0-1 U's

Cambridge United came away from Bloomfields with a one-nil win this afternoon.

Adam Cunnington scored the only goal of the game, heading home at the back post from Mitch Austin's pin-point delivery.

Kwesi Appiah came closest for the U's in the first-half, hitting the angle of the crossbar early on after the hosts had tested Chris Maxwell with two well struck shots.  On the stroke of half-time, Josh Coulson was on the end of Harrison Dunk's corner, but was denied by Needham Market's former Arsenal 'keeper, James Shae, who pulled off a superb point-blank save.

HT: 0-0

The U's dominated the majority of the second-half, keeping possession well in the Marketmen's half.  Kwesi Appiah and Liam Hughes came close for United, and Luke Berry was denied when James Shea once again pulled off a superb save, tipping his goal-bound header on to the bar.

It was Adam Cunnington who finally broke the deadlock, Mitch Austin delivered an excellent cross for the U's number nine to head home at the back post, in front of the fantastic travelling support.
