MATCH CENTRE - BIRMINGHAM

The hosts grabbed a quickfire double in the first period of extra time.  Paul Caddis fired in from close range and Mark Duffy's shot was drilled past Chris Dunn from the edge of the U's box.
  
Birmingham came close through Donaldson and Novak, Donaldson somehow nodding wide of the U's goal in stoppage time. 
  
The U's came close to taking the lead on 58, Delano Sam-Yorke thwarted by Colin Doyle after breaking through one-on-one.

Ryan Donaldson levelled matters after Appiah and Cunnington had come close for the U's.  Donaldson jinked his way through the Blues' midfield and fired home from the edge of the box. 
  
Birmingham started brightly and took the lead on 16 minutes, Clayton Donaldson drove his strike beyond Chris Dunn from close range. 
  
CAMBRIDGE United suffered a 3-1 loss, after extra time, at St. Andrew's this evening. 

 

Greg Taylor and Luke Chadwick came close for the U's late on, both were denied by fine stops from Colin Doyle.
